Get to the Root of the Riots
The riots and unrest unfolding in Minnesota are escalating. More than 200 cities and counties across the U.S. have some form of sanctuary policy, ordinance, or, in some cases, active resistance to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Major cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, and Portland often limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities. This raises profound questions about public safety, constitutional order, and accountability in government.
On the other hand, in the District of Columbia, where 92.5% of the ballots cast were for Kamala Harris in 2024, Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser cooperated with federal law enforcement. The result is nothing short of astounding:
-
Violent crime reported is down about 39% during the surge period compared with the same span in 2024.
-
Homicides were reported down about 53% over that same period.
-
Some reports cited an almost 50% drop in violent crime, with burglaries down about 48% and car thefts down 36%.
-
Short-term measures from local police data found violent crime down around 44% compared with the same three-week period in the previous year.
While attention was drawn to widespread fraud among the Somali community in Minnesota, demonstrations began over immigration enforcement and now has surged into ongoing violence. This situation demands full transparency, public hearings, and rigorous oversight. The American people deserve answers, and Congress has a responsibility to investigate what is happening in Minnesota — thoroughly, honestly, and publicly.
Critical questions remain unanswered. Are these protests coordinated and funded? Who are the funders? Are Minnesota elected officials involved in these riots? Fax Congress demanding a thorough investigation with public hearings.

Are there networks or groups — domestic or foreign — funneling resources, strategies, or communications to those spreading unrest? We must separate lawful protests from coordination that crosses legal lines. An open, public congressional hearing can draw on testimony from witnesses, officials, and independent experts.
Who is funding the unrest? Is there evidence of outside funding — including foreign influence — seeking to exploit this crisis for political or strategic advantage? Allegations have circulated about outside groups supporting or amplifying the conflict. Congress needs to subpoena financial records, campaign disclosures, and related documents to get to the truth.
Are government actors and politicians playing a role in these riots? We need a full accounting of local, state, and federal coordination — or lack thereof — in the deployment of federal agents. Were standard procedures followed? Did political pressures shape the enforcement actions? And are local politicians motivated to distract from other controversies — such as fraud investigations — by fueling division? These are not partisan questions; they are questions of governance.
Sunlight is the best disinfectant. America’s freedoms and confidence in law enforcement and democratic institutions depends on transparency nationwide.
