Under the Obama era, our religious liberties were under attack like I had never seen in America. Now we are regaining ground and restoring the religious freedom our Constitution promises. Now is the time to advance. Keep reading to see what your support enabled our team to accomplish this year. - Mat 

We had an incredible opportunity to deepen our connections in Capitol Hill. We have drafted legislation, offered revisions, and supported sweeping departmental changes.    

Mark my words… change needed to happen! The status quo was blatantly hostile to religious liberties. Even a moment of rest for my team would essentially accept an environment antagonistic to religious freedom and people of faith. Now is the time to rise up and continue to fight for our constitutional freedoms.

Rising up is exactly what Liberty Counsel Action did this year!   

We can rejoice over major victories that our work, and your support, helped kindle this year. In just the areas of religious freedom and family relationships, here are a few of the changes we have inspired together:

  • Supported the end of the IRS’s unconstitutional censorship of churches’ voice in community and political matters  
  • Successfully advocated that faith-based groups have the freedom to provide healthcare coverage to 13.7 million Americans
  • Supported the U.S. Attorney General having greater authority to support religious liberty policy   
  • Encouraged the Dept. of Justice’s decision to have federal agencies increase protections for religious freedom   
  • Participated in Religious Liberty Summits at most of the federal departments and agencies.   
  • Inspired guidance protecting religious liberty to ensure that those who support natural marriage would not be discriminated against through the Dept. of Agriculture    
  • Bolstered military readiness by supporting soldiers’ freedom to not bunk and shower with gender-confused individuals of the opposite sex   
  • Motivated the withdrawal from lawsuits forcing an LGBT agenda across America, including against North Carolina’s bathroom privacy law   
  • Instigated the reversal of portions of ObamaCare, which would have promoted, even guaranteed, special benefits for those facing gender confusion   
  • Encouraged reversing the Obama-era policy that required Dept. of Justice interpret the Civil Rights Act to add "gender identity" to protected classes

In addition, sometimes it’s what doesn’t happen that makes the biggest impact. President Trump refused to claim June as LGBT month. He removed the White House’s webpages supporting privileges for LGBT individuals and he took numerous actions related to homosexual, transgender, and other sex-related matters. Liberty Counsel Action has accepted multiple invitations to the White House to advocate for better policy in these areas.



Unfortunately, the battle is far from over!   

Many departments still have policies that still encourage discrimination against people of faith. There is much more work remaining to roll back the liberal oppression of the previous eight years. We cannot be silent and comfortable now. Right now, is the moment to move the standard forward.    

We are fighting a media that is nearly frantic with hate for anything and anyone that stands for truth in these areas. We stand for biological reality. We stand for people of faith to have the freedom to live their lives in peace without being forced to celebrate unhealthy lifestyles. This has caused the media to twist our words, to lie about us, or to attempted to censor and silence us altogether.    

In addition, in less than a week, many freshman legislators have made it a top priority to push privileges for certain sexual relationships over and above constitutional rights and freedoms. Their fresh energy on these mistaken goals must be countered on Capitol Hill immediately. Donate right now to help us prepare for next year’s battles.
