On Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee passed HR 5, by 22 votes to 10. This was after rejecting a religious freedom amendment.

I am surprised that I haven't heard from many of you yet. I’d like to add your name (at no cost to you) to our petition fighting HR 5. We already have thousands of signatures, but it would be meaningful to me to be able to add yours as well!

Yesterday, a two-thirds majority of this committee passed the so-called “Equally Act.” We must act now to stop this bill in the U.S. Senate.

“If this bill passes…religious freedom will be in material jeopardy!” This quote is not the ranting of a basement blogger, but official testimony of U.S. House Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) on HR 5.

This bill will strip freedom from pastors to decline to officiate same sex ceremonies. It will force churches to host these ceremonies, or face debilitating lawsuits. This bill will establish the legal path for using the LGBT agenda as a legal way to bankrupt every person, organization, school, and company that refuses to promote the LGBT agenda.
Men will be able to use women’s private facilities and compete in women’s sports.

HR 5 is an all-out assault on our religious freedom! If the government can force you to affirm and celebrate sin, then we have already lost our most precious freedom. We need your help to ensure that our religious freedom is protected.

Democrats (and some Republicans) are pushing hard to steam roll our religious freedoms. But we can still stop HR 5. We are short of my goal before we deliver this petition. Can you take one minute to brainstorm who cares about these issues and forward this message to them?
