I am thrilled that President Trump stood under the powerful prayer of the pastor of McLean Bible Church on Sunday. And at that same moment, numerous other churches lifted up our President in prayer. These prayers are in direct obedience to the reminder in 1 Timothy 2:2 to pray for our leaders.

There is no question that we are in a battle between good and evil, life against death, and truth against lies. Yet in this moment, tens of thousands stood in the gap praying for our nation and our leadership. And I know God answers prayer.

The Bible says that the gates of hell will not prevail against the church that Jesus is building. But gates are not an offensive tool but rather a defensive measure. Gates are usually placed around the last stronghold ...the home base of the enemy. And if these gates are crumbling, that means that God’s church is on the move. There is nothing left that Satan can do about it.

Our staff has seen "transgender" individuals come to a meeting to protest and, through the power of prayer, leave having accepted Jesus into their hearts. There are men who were injured during the Pulse nightclub shooting who are now powerfully proclaiming freedom in Christ to others in the LGBT movement. We have helped teens struggling with same sex attraction find peace through professional counseling. And when California tried to legally classify all ex-homosexuals as “frauds,” a movement started to show others that freedom is possible in Christ.

If Democrats had their way with the deceptive “Equality Act,” many of these victories would become illegal. Anyone struggling couldn’t hear from other professional adults who have left same-sex lifestyles behind. Those who have found their freedom in Christ would be minimized and ostracized until they were silenced.

Right now, powerful voices are opposing our view. Singer Taylor Swift is asking her 118 million followers to push for this legislation. Swift does have one thing right. She says: “Politicians need votes to stay in office. Votes come from the people. Pressure from massive amounts of people is a major way to push politicians.” She is joined by many additional radical Hollywood voices.

Those pushing this bill only need three or four more votes for S 788 to pass Congress. This is why faxing our legislators is so important. Now is not the time to back off! They need to hear from you.
