Teacher Mark Vincent Busenbark claims to be “transgender” and/or “non-binary.” His Facebook posts reveal his bold anticipation and plan about showing his video to every elementary grade child at the school.   

He now calls himself “Vica Steel,” and states the purpose of the video was so “all [the children] can know who I am and who I am becoming.” During the video, he showed the students scary, ghostlike figures to represent “hateful” people that do not support his “transgender” beliefs. He showed them pictures of a girl sticking her tongue out, rebelling against an adult offering her a dress. As a result of his video, multiple children have expressed confusion about their own gender. 

He tells all students to call him by a woman’s name, with the invented title “Mix” or “Mx.” instead of “Mr.” He also instructs these children to call him by false plural pronouns, “they, them, and their.”   

In his nearly eight-minute video, Steel dresses as a woman and makes the bigoted and inaccurate statement that people who respectfully disagree with him are motivated by “fear” and “hate.”  

Parents in this school district are upset. The school gave no effective opt-out, in what appears to be an intentional dismissal of parents’ rights. This is a direct affront to our right to raise up children to follow our faith and values. It even attempts to deny biological reality!

This is not the first time kindergarteners have been indoctrinated by their teachers. Last year, a California teacher read a pro-transgender book before revealing a classmate dressing as a different gender. Other children came home crying, shaking and scared that they would wake up one day a different gender. But those parents' voices within the community were not enough to change this school. When the controversy died down, this teacher was awarded Teacher of the Year!  

We are coming alongside these parents and their children. I am urging you to speak out, too. Help us hold accountable teachers who disregard reality. Send a fax now.
