This month, a heartbreaking abortion case made international headlines. A father and mother were excited to welcome their first child, who they had already named Juanse.

However, this father would never meet Juanse because his former girlfriend decided to terminate their pregnancy—against the wishes of his father. A baby develops pain sensors at 20 weeks old and he is considered viable at 22 weeks.

Juanse was 30 weeks old. What is particularly horrifying about this case is the father was begging and pleading for his child’s life but ultimately left unable to defend his own child. “They’ve killed him,” this father said when he heard the news. “I would have given him all my love.”

Juanse, who was seven months old, very likely felt every second of his horrific death at the hands of an abortionist. It is a sad reality that a father who desires to protect his child from pain and death is left defenseless in Columbia … and in America.

To radical legislators in D.C. it doesn’t matter if the child is viable or even if they have already been born. These murders can continue to happen because of the vote in the U.S. Senate this week.
