Today, Congressional Republicans tried to add additional funds to the Small Business loans that are already depleted at many national banks. Democrats blocked the funds for small businesses because they are demanding gender and race-based loans.

Democrats are fighting AGAINST helping small businesses because these radicals first want to give preferential treatment to race and gender. This is deeply frustrating; it is also completely blind to the many businesses that employ people of different races and gender.

In addition to working on Capitol Hill, we are helping churches, non-profits, and small businesses navigate the forgivable loan application. We know firsthand that in a few days the money many large national banks could lend has run out.

The inaction of Democrats could devastate and perhaps even destroy many of the 30 million small business owners in America, most of whom need help RIGHT NOW. They are playing political games with the lives and futures of people across America who just saw 20-40 years of their life’s work destroyed by government decree.

These members of Congress need to hear from you right now. The Senate voted on this today; the House is voting on it tomorrow. Encourage Republicans to stand strong and demand that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer stop holding small business owners hostage to their political agenda. Send your fax immediately.

The original bill was jammed through so quickly, some legislators missed that it would give away an EXTRA $2,400 per month, on top of regular unemployment percentage benefits to the unemployed during this time. Let me share why this is even "a life-or-death issue" according to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). It incentivizes essential workers making $15 per hour to try to get fired so they can suddenly make $24 per hour on unemployment.

Some companies have laid off their workers because they will get paid more to not work than to work. A restaurant in Florida closed when it was told that it could only do take out, but after people prayed with the owner, he decided to try providing take out. After calling 55 of his workers, only one (the chef) returned. The other 54 refused to return to work because they could make more not working.

The CARES Act needs to be fixed. Small businesses need additional help. And the provision that incentivizes unemployment needs to be amended. We CANNOT make the unemployment crisis worse than what it is now.

We already have millions of people applying for unemployment. We MUST reward good hard honest work, not punish it. Send Congress a message to end this now.

"Senate Democrats should drop their shameful threat to block this funding immediately," said Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). "Our small businesses desperately need help — now."

It is time for all of us to stand in solidarity with small business owners, and even perhaps as small business owners ourselves. Now is NOT the time to play politics with the lives devastated by the government’s rules. Tell Congress to take action now.
