State Communion Guidelines

Apr 13, 2020

Even though churches were originally declared "essential" in Indiana, the elders at Church of Christ in Hammond, Indiana, were ticketed on Palm Sunday for holding a church service.

The city hall in Hammond remained open and is having meetings with 25+ people, but when this church met with a small group, the neighbors called the police, who stopped the service and punished the leaders.

It is time to rise up against politicians who think they have become kings and no longer follow the Bill of Rights.

Make your voice heard today with a fax to the governors and legislators responsible for leading our nation. Act now.

But things got worse in Indiana for churches just before Easter. The Republican governor of Indiana chose to ignore both national and state protections on religious freedom.

On Thursday, Governor Eric Holcomb launched a new attack on the celebration of Easter. His announcement was timed too close to Easter to allow for a legal challenge through normal channels.

He demanded churches close their doors to ALL congregants, (even less than 10). He banned having an open-air tent outside, and also denied poor people, especially neighborhood children, from being able to attend church on Easter because he mandated that people could only attend if they owned and drove their own personal car.

I cannot believe that the doors of a church would be closed on Easter by a governor! We are living in the twilight zone of our Constitution. There are thousands of secular businesses still operating, jammed full of people.

It is time now for you to reach out to every governor in America with our important fax message. Remind these politicians—Democrats and Republicans alike—that the U.S. Supreme Court demands that they CANNOT place more restrictions on churches than those placed on secular businesses and activities. Act now.

Unfortunately, Gov. Holcomb didn't stop there. He demanded an empty parking space between every car parked at church. Meanwhile, there are no parking requirements if you go to Home Depot to pick out non-essential paint or house decorations.

In addition, if churches offered communion on Easter the governor demanded they have higher sanitary standards than what is required in local grocery stores. His policy stated that "only prepackaged communion may be used." Can you imagine the uproar if a governor demanded that all supermarkets ONLY offer pre-packaged food to the public? Yet that is exactly what he demanded from every church in his state. In addition, the governor gave churches less than one business day to find these unique supplies that he demanded.

Plain and simple, this is discrimination against religious activities. And it is now coming from both major political parties. The state cannot tell churches they cannot hold a parking lot service while allowing the parking lots of liquor stores and Home Depot to overflow.

Now is the moment to remind Democrat and Republican governors alike that they must follow the Constitution and bow to the Bill of Rights. We the people cannot stand by and watch our freedoms thrown into the trash. Churches cannot become subservient, second-class activities for the first time in our nation's history. Send your fax today.

My team is launching a two-prong attack to restore these freedoms, both through the courts and the legislatures. But we suddenly having a higher volume of legal situations and legislative policies than we have ever seen. These problems are mushrooming across America. Will you prayerfully support our organization right now to help assist pastors and national, state, and local politicians in these trying times?

Donate now to help our ministry expose this double standard and restore our constitutional liberty. And then send a fax to these governors to make your own voice heard to protect freedom around the nation.

It is an honor to stand and fight for the constitutional freedoms for you and for these churches in America today.

Blessings,

P.S. Just like in Indiana, governors across America are holding churches to a different standard than they are applying to themselves or to secular businesses and activities. We cannot allow this deeply dangerous legal precedent to stand! Send a fax to these governors and other politicians who are considering emergency orders and actions. Then rush a donation to strengthen our ability to fight this in the days ahead. Any amount helps.

Finally, Big Tech is blocking and shadow banning Christian organizations like ours. Will you please help us beat the censorship by taking a few seconds to forward this email to your friend?
