Minutes ago, the U.S. Senate reached an agreement on a bill to help small businesses. Now this bill goes back to the U.S. House which has blocked aid to these businesses for about two weeks.

In March, bankruptcies increased by 12% month-over-month. Meanwhile Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi congratulated legislators who voted against helping small business owners by increasing funds to the Paycheck Protection Plan. She then headed to her own kitchen to showcase her specialty ice cream cravings. Right now, the hopes and dreams of nearly 13 million American business owners and their employees are in real danger of being destroyed by Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

It’s time to tell these D.C. radicals that grassroots Americans value small businesses more than political posturing and Pelosi’s pet projects. Our legislators urgently need to get their priorities straight. The lives and families of millions are being hurt by the delays from Democrats. People like gym owners, who wanted to help clients improve their health, or restaurant owners, who wanted to share in a lifetime of special memories with their customers, or a single mother, who just finished night classes and started a salon to pull her family out of poverty.

These people are not just permanently losing their dreams, they are also being pushed into bankruptcy, which will destroy their credit for up to 10 years. That’s 10 years that they will not be able to buy their own home or get a business loan if they want to try a start-up again to create jobs for others. This is taking the most independent and hardest-working among our nation and smearing the next 10 years of their future.

Right now, Republicans in the Senate are fighting today to hold a vote on providing 310 billion dollars to rescue business owners struggling under the weight of crushing lockdowns. This money must be used to keep employees on staff and will reduce the money paid out through unemployment and welfare distribution.

It’s time to rise up and demand that the Democrat leadership stop the obstruction and vote to help small businesses. Send your fax today to demand action. It’s time to get this bill on the President’s desk.
