A biological male named Will “Lia” Thomas was ranked 462 while on the swim team at the University of Pennsylvania for three years. Unable to compete successfully, Will changed his name to Lia and entered the women’s division. He just took first place in the NCAA Division I women’s national championship 500-yard competition. He even beat out the best biological woman—who happens to be an Olympic silver medalist, Emma Weyant.
That is only the start of the problems. Thomas uses the locker room to change, so the women on the team are forced to see him exposed and must change clothes in front of him in their locker room.
One shared privately, “It's definitely awkward because Lia still has male body parts and is still attracted to women.” Coaches have ignored many complaints from women on the team and told them to get over it.
Women are losing their right to compete to a biological man who is harassing them! This is insane and wrong. Tell our governors and legislators to protect women’s sports and save Title IX! —Mat
When Thomas raced in December, it wasn’t even close. This biological male finished 38 seconds ahead of the next female. After a massive political outcry, Thomas started winning by only a little, then even losing a little bit. But after his massive victory, there is suspicion that he held back hoping the heat would go away.
When it really mattered, Thomas not only stole first place from the rightful winner, he also knocked out the fourth-place finisher from the top three platform entirely.
Reka Gyorgy, a female swimmer, wrote: “I am a 2016 Rio Olympian, represented Virginia Tech for the past five years, a 2 time ACC Champion, 2 time All-American, and 3 time Honorable Mention All-American.”
But because Thomas took first place, Reka was knocked out by one slot from the cutoff to compete in the next event.
“This is my last college meet ever and I feel frustrated. It feels like that final spot was taken away from me because of the NCAA’s decision to let someone who is not a biological female compete.”
This female athlete had her last opportunity stolen from her. Her Title IX protections were erased, and her chance to compete was given to a biological male. This is NOT fair. Tell our governors and key legislators to protect women in their sports and their private locker rooms.
Not only does LGBTQ destroy women’s sports, but it also harms people. It is dangerous to girls to abolish gender or make it merely a product of changing thoughts.
We have opposed the misnamed “Equality Act” (HR 5), which would force the LGBT and Q agenda on everyone, including religious organizations and schools. We have been able to block that bill thus far.
Now, we need to tell legislators and governors to defend women before it’s too late!
There are many others who are hurting opportunities for women in sports. Remember when two high school boys “identified” as girls in Connecticut and took the top two trophies in the state?
One of the track runners, Selina Soule, couldn’t compete because her spot was taken by those two biological males. “It’s very frustrating and heartbreaking when us girls are at the start of the race and we already know that these athletes are going to come out and win no matter how hard you try,” Soule told The Daily Signal. “They took away the spots of deserving girls, athletes.”
My staff includes female athletes, and they personally know what these sports programs meant to them.
We cannot allow this generation to be the last one that has girls’ sports and opportunities for women. Tell Congress and our state governors to act now to protect these women.
Together we fought (and stopped) HR 5 multiple times from passing the Senate. That bill would have pushed the most radical LGBTQ+ agenda our nation has ever seen. But even after stopping that bill, we are still seeing these same damaging effects being pushed into our sports programs nationwide.
If this becomes accepted in sports, the same destructive agenda will permeate every classroom and much more.
There is growing outcry that it is wrong to allow men to compete as women. Many are realizing that their own children’s opportunities will be stunted if this is not stopped. And no parent wants their daughter forced to watch a male undress in the locker room.
It is time to end this radicalized social destruction of our intrinsic values. Urge our federal legislators and state governors to act now to protect these opportunities for women.
Our team is constantly assessing the threats to freedom, opportunity and conservative values and educating you about the greatest dangers we face. You are the one that makes this possible.
Recently, our staff in D.C. helped block Sarah Bloom Raskin from nomination as vice chairman of the Federal Reserve. The Reserve already has so much authority, but she wanted to weaponize it against oil companies to destroy them in the midst of an energy crisis!
Because of your support for our ministry, we were able to educate people on the dangers of putting her in this role, and she recently withdrew. Please consider DOUBLING the impact of your gift today through our Challenge Grant. Support Liberty Counsel Action by selecting here or the button below.
God bless you!
Sincerely,
Mat Staver, Chairman
