The mayor of Laredo, Texas, declared a state of emergency last week due to a major influx of illegal immigrants streaming across the border. As of six months ago, 5.5 million people crossed our border illegally under Joe Biden’s watch. Now he is allowing Title 42 to expire on Thursday to make matters worse. Title 42 is a pandemic-related policy that our border patrol used to turn away 3 million illegals.

The open borders are allowing an influx of drugs that are killing young people. Gang members, the cartels, and terrorists are infiltrating our country. And our border has set up innocent people — especially women and children — to be sexually abused by human traffickers.

Fentanyl drug overdose deaths have tripled in the last several years. Now fentanyl is the number-one killer of people 18 to 45 in America. This drug is up to 50 times more powerful than heroin! Every state and elected official must make the border crisis a top bipartisan priority.

Right now, there is a bill (HR 2) in Congress that will go a long way to addressing this border crisis. In addition to Congress, we must demand that every state say “Enough!” Send a critical fax to demand that our key leaders take action now! — Mat

What is happening is sickening and hard to put into words.

A husband and wife carrying their young daughter across the strong current at the southern border were swept away and drowned. Border agents rushed the child to the hospital, but their efforts to save her life failed. A post-exam of the child revealed she had been repeatedly sexually abused — most likely by human traffickers.

People desperate to flee are lured by human traffickers and promised to find streets of gold in America. After joining the caravan, the thugs rape the women and girls. They even designate rape trees where they hang their victims’ panties from them for all to see. Those who object are hung on trees as a warning for others to submit.

How can we allow this abuse to continue? We must stop it.

Tim Ballard, CEO of Operation Underground Railroad, which fights child trafficking at the border, states: “The policies of this administration are absolutely incentivizing [child abuse]. It's the wind at the sails of the traffickers.” He said, “they absolutely know and they're willing to sacrifice children to get these would-be hopeful Democratic voters into the country.”

Ballard states, “it's dreadful — it's horrifying.” We are allowing this. Worse, we are incentivizing it!

This week there are efforts in Congress to end this crisis at our border. Send an urgent fax to key legislators and to our governors to act quickly before the floodgates open when Title 42 ends this week.

In addition to the human cost, an open border threatens national security. An open border allows our enemies to infiltrate America.

• Military-looking men from nations that despise America are pouring across our border.

• These young men are coming from Venezuela and the Middle East.

• Drugs are pouring in, causing 100,000 deaths per year (and rising).

• Human trafficking is common.

• MS-13 and other gangs, including the cartel, are building cells across our nation.

This is not a problem that can wait. The brutality of what is happening on our border is flooding America.

The cartels brutally kill and torture. After his mother and brother were killed at the border, 13-year-old Devin tried to hide his six brothers and sisters in bushes near their ambushed car. His younger brother, eight-year-old Cody, was shot in the leg and the jaw. Fourteen-year-old Kylie was shot in the foot. Nine-year-old Mckenzie was shot in the arm. Four-year-old Xander was shot in the back. And 9-month-old Brixon Oliver was shot in the chest.

Devin covered his siblings with branches to keep them hidden from the gang. He then hiked 14 miles to get medical help. This is happening under the Biden administration. Collectively we must stop the violence.

America is at risk, and children are being caught in the crosshairs suffering unthinkable abuse. Urge Congress and key state lawmakers to act now to stop the victimization of children and innocent people.

The current border bill (HR 2) in the U.S. Congress will do all of the following:

• Strengthen physical barriers.

• Give border control the technology it needs.

• Hire staff and create a successful working model.

• Offer grants to border communities for enhancing national security.

• Set a minimum number of flight hours over the border.

• Cut away the plants giving cover to smugglers and “coyotes.”

• Collect the DNA and fingerprints of illegal immigrants at the border.

• Run background checks on illegals.

• Report on foreign terrorist organizations’ efforts to infiltrate.

• Outline proper care for abandoned children.

• And much, much more.

Urge Congress to pass this bill and for key state lawmakers to do everything in their power to stop the crisis at our border.
