Meetings With House Members Raise Concerns

Jul 22, 2023

This week, our team went from legislative office to legislative office focusing on Republicans who voted in favor of the last attack on marriage. We are concerned with the Mormon delegation of six U.S. House Republicans because last year the Mormon church supported the misnamed “Respect for Marriage Act.” But they’re not the only members who concern us.

The freedom we enjoy today could be gone if HR 15, the so-called “Equality Act,” passes in the U.S. House. It will force everyone to comply with a damaging, freedom-crushing LGBT & Q and abortion agenda. We absolutely MUST stop this bill, which already has 212 Democrat co-sponsors in the House and the support of two more non-voting territories! This bill will not just infringe on religious freedom … it will be extreme in every sense.

We must not let freedom die on our watch.

Now, these legislators need to hear from you! Urge them to do everything in their power to block HR 15 with your immediate faxes. — Mat

It’s difficult to communicate the far-reaching impact of this bill.

In America, churches and people of faith have always had the freedom to live out their faith. Until now. This bill would completely strip that away.

However, it goes far beyond just applying to your church or business. It governs private homes and simply dabbling in online sales of a good or service or program! This bill applies to “any gathering” and is not limited to a “physical facility or place.”

If you offer something for sale from your home on Etsy, eBay, or other internet stores, then this bill will apply to you and subject you to lawsuits.

This nightmare legislation even applies to any “perceived” slight against someone who was associated in the past with anyone who is LGBTQ. It includes “beliefs.” This means you could owe court-mandated “damages” for something that is entirely in a person’s head.

This opens the door to mind-blowing injustice! The Catholic League described the Equality Act as the “most comprehensive assault on Christianity ever written into law.”

But it gets even stranger.

This legislation specifically includes “Q” in LGBTQ, which the bill says means “Queer.” This includes about 550 paraphilias, including pedophilia.

Pedophilia is a paraphilia. The “Q” opens the doors of churches, schools, and daycares to pedophiles and punishes anyone who tries to keep kids safe. B4U-Act, which pushes its agenda to professors and activists, even uses the euphemism “minor-attracted persons.”

I wish this were hyperbole, but it’s not!

We can stop this bill in the House. I’ll be honest. Our meetings this week raised concerns, and I am convinced we face the serious threat that HR 15 could pass. It certainly will if we remain silent and take victory for granted.

There are 212 Democrats who support this bill. They need only six Republicans to file a discharge petition to bypass the Speaker of House and pass this bill. There are six Mormon Republican members of the House, and last year, the Mormon church caved and supported the “Respect for Marriage Act.” In fact, 47 Republicans voted for it on the first vote and 39 after it passed the Senate. These numbers are seriously concerning.

It is critical to make your voice heard by every legislator! We must fight for our freedom and our children more than ever! Join us in blocking this radical bill with your rushed fax now.

In the urgency of this moment, I don’t want to forget to share a few victories. This year, not a single House Republican co-sponsored the Equality Act. (Last time, three U.S. House RINOs co-sponsored it!) In addition, Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) was a former co-sponsor, but she withdrew her sponsorship.

We need all hands on deck. Congress is in the process of criminalizing our sincerely held religious beliefs. Send a fax to oppose the Equality Act right now.

My team is committed to fighting this dangerous bill. We need everyone to join in voicing opposition to the Equality Act.

This is a battle we must win!
