An extensive human-trafficking ring was just broken up with more than 219 arrests in central Florida thanks to the hard work and dedication of Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, who I honored with an award years ago. Of these arrests, 35 people were in our nation illegally. There were three victims of human trafficking, 18 people under investigation for prostitution and 12 johns (men arrested for solicitation). Some of these people were forced into prostitution to pay off the “coyotes” who smuggled them across the border with false promises.

This is an evil criminal enterprise — smuggling people across the border and then forcing them into prostitution, drugs, and crime to pay off their debt under threat of being killed along with their families back home.

During a press conference, Sheriff Judd said “35 of them should not have been in the United States. But they were. They were here as suspects but also as victims. They were forced, indentured into having to be here to pay off transportation debt among other issues.”

The amount of crime and irreversible damage that our open borders are causing across our nation is mind-blowing. Joe Biden has also opened a spigot to flood America with more illegals through any commercial airport. We must end this crisis.

Organized criminal syndicates south of the border are herding people and lying to them about entering the “Promised Land.” They are told that the border is open. They can go anywhere in America. They will be fed, housed, and receive medical care. Then when these people arrive, they are hit with a huge “transportation” bill and forced into prostitution or drug running for the cartels to “pay off their debts.”

Some of these people came here under false pretense and now they are living in constant fear. Others are criminals with ill intent!

There are rumblings that some people like the open border so they can get illegal “voters” into certain swing states to sway election results.

Our policies are responsible for this insanity. Elon Musk recently did a live stream on X highlighting this dangerous and inhumane situation.

HR 2 will go a long way to address the border crisis. Encourage Congress and every state to act now!

The volume of people crossing the border is hard to visualize. Let me try:

• There are about 11,000 people crossing the border each day!
• That is about 341,000 people per month (if the numbers hold)
• Or more than 4 million people per year (if these numbers hold)

That annual amount of people is more than everyone who lives in one of 23 states and 6 territories. In 2022, 2.76 million people illegally crossed the border. And this year the numbers are even higher.

In fact, this annual total is equal to the population of 5 entire states and most of Washington D.C. COMBINED.

The sheer volume is disrupting our food supply chains, transportation, housing, medical, education, law enforcement, and the list goes on.

But unfortunately, many of these are criminals. Notice most people are young men, and they are coming from many nations.

“A recent report from the Texas Department of Public Safety revealed that 297,000 non-citizens had been ‘booked into local Texas jails between June 1, 2011 and July 31, 2019.’ So these are non-citizens who allegedly committed local crimes, not immigration violations … a little more than two-thirds (202,000) of those booked in Texas jails were later confirmed as illegal immigrants,” according to The Heritage Foundation.

The cost for detaining one person is more than 134,000 dollars each! Even if just a small percentage of illegal immigrants commit additional crimes, this is a massive drain on our police force that already has been under attack.

But there’s a simple solution: SECURE THE BORDER. Congress holds the purse, and they can draw the line on what should be a bipartisan issue. Send urgent faxes to key legislators and to our governors to act quickly.

HR 2 in Congress will do all the following:

• Strengthen physical barriers at the border.

• Give border control the technology needed to secure America.

• Hire staff and create a successful working model.

• Offer grants to border communities to enhance national security.

• Set a minimum number of flight hours over the border.

• Cut away the plants giving cover to smugglers and “coyotes.”

• Collect the DNA and fingerprints of illegal immigrants at the border.

• Run background checks on illegals.

• Report on foreign terrorist organizations’ efforts to infiltrate.

• Outline proper care for abandoned children.

• And much, much more.
