This Really Galls Me

Mar 12, 2024

Against all evidence and after Oct. 7, a top U.N. official recently rejected the self-evident claim that Hamas is a terrorist organization. Instead, he declared: “Hamas is not a terrorist group for us, of course, as you know. It’s a political movement.”

Sure. A “political movement” that savagely slaughters innocent Israelis, harms women, burns babies, and kills disabled individuals.

Outraged at this idiocy, Israel’s Ambassador to the U.N., Gilad Erdan, declared, “This is the face of the UN these days: an organization that whitewashes terrorism, promotes Hamas and blames the victims. The UN has lost all credibility.”

We need to hold the U.N. accountable right now. Sen. Ted Cruz is introducing a bill now that would end immunity for international organizations (like the U.N.) that are funding and supporting terrorist organizations like Hamas. This would allow the families of the 30 slain American men and women to sue the U.N. and hold them accountable in U.S. courts.

It is time for justice for those funding these terrorists. Urge Congress to act now to immediately defund the U.N. and allow these families to seek justice. — Mat

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich declared that the U.N. is a “functionally pro-terrorist organization.”

But I’m getting ahead of myself. I’ll give you two more quick examples to show how the U.N. sides with Hamas AGAINST Israel.

The U.N.’s High Commissioner for Human Rights recently exonerated Hamas, saying the savage Oct. 7 massacre came in the “context of ‘over 56 years’ of Israeli occupation, effectively justifying it,” as UN Watch noted.

Just two weeks after that brutal terrorism, with Israelis in shock and grief, U.N. Secretary General António Guterres tried to give Hamas a pass, saying its bloody rampage “did not happen in a vacuum.”

Predictably, he blamed Israel, saying the Jewish state has “subjected” Palestinians to “56 years of suffocating occupation.” What “occupation”? Israel completely left Gaza in 2005. And this attack is what they get in return.

Leaving no doubt about whose side he’s on, Guterres, a socialist, recited the standard list of false and discredited Palestinian grievances, and goes on to say: “They have seen their land steadily devoured by settlements and plagued by violence; their economy stifled; their people displaced; and their homes demolished. Their hopes for a political solution to their plight have been vanishing.

But there is no one to blame but themselves as they were frantically arming themselves for violence and ignoring the needs of their own community.

And the culprit they pick is the one group of people that is NOWHERE in their communities: Israel — the world’s one-and-only Jewish state. America should not give the world’s leading bastion of antisemitism — the United Nations — more than 12 billion dollars annually.

A terrorists’ partner in crime.

The most outrageous example of the U.N.'s deep-seated antisemitism is UNRWA — the U.N.'s pro-Hamas education and welfare agency serving Palestinians.

“UNRWA is totally infiltrated with Hamas,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted in January. “It has been in the service of Hamas and its schools, and in many other things.” Israel’s defense minister calls UNRWA “Hamas with a facelift.”

In fact, UNRWA schools educate young Gazans to kill Israelis. And have done so for decades. So, while it’s shocking, it’s not surprising that UNRWA teachers celebrated the Oct. 7 massacre.

What is far worse is that at least 12 UNRWA staffers joined Hamas on Oct. 7 to kill innocent Israelis, mostly civilians. Another intelligence report indicates an additional 30 UNRWA staffers also joined the savage attack.

The Wall Street Journal reported in late January that at least 10% of UNRWA workers — some 1,200 Gazans — are Hamas terrorists. And half of UNRWA’s 12,000 Gaza employees have close relatives who belong to Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

And by strange “coincidence,” Hamas placed a sensitive underground data center some 65 feet directly below UNRWA’s Gaza headquarters. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) found power cables linking the Hamas data center to an UNRWA data center above ground, suggesting close collaboration between the two.

Despite incriminating evidence like that, UNRWA head Philippe Lazzarini — a sharp critic of Israel — denied any knowledge that Hamas located its data center directly under the nose of UNRWA.

“Oh, you knew,” the Israeli official in charge of “Government Activities in the Territories,” replied on X (formerly Twitter).

But until now, there was no reason, no financial motivation for groups like the U.N. and UNRWA to distance themselves from Hamas. Until now. If Sen. Cruz’s bill passes, it has the power to be a game-changer stopping the flow of our money to the Middle East to stir up violence.

What I’ve shared barely scratches the surface of the U.N.’s deeply entrenched and long-standing hostility for Israel. You are a good and valued friend of Israel and I thank you for that! Join Liberty Counsel Action in partnership today to help bless and defend the Jewish state.
