BIG Announcement And Historic Shift

I am thrilled to announce that my longtime friend and colleague has been appointed as the new president of Liberty Counsel Action. Our president for many years remains a member of the board and I remain Chairman. John Stemberger will serve alongside me and be an incredible asset to expand the ministry.

John founded and ran the Florida Family Policy Council for the last 20 years, making it one of the most effective policy organizations in the nation. Then when the Boy Scouts were in moral decline, John became the primary founder of Trail Life USA — a Christ-centered scouting organization providing adventure, character development, and leadership skills for boys. Trail Life grew to more than 50,000 members in all 50 states.

John has 30 years of legal and policy experience effectively advocating for Judeo-Christian values. He was chairman of the 2008 campaign in Florida to define marriage between a man and a woman, which was the largest grassroots mobilization in the history of Florida.

One of the hottest ballot issues this fall will be on abortion, and already John is creating answers to the greatest lies from the abortion lobby. John has hit the ground running. He was quoted in the N.Y. Times this week on Liberty Counsel Action’s battle to protect the lives of thousands of preborn children.

We are now facing a multi-front battle in the states and an even greater battle in Congress. If HR 12 passes, it will throw open the door to erase all abortion restrictions in the states — allowing abortion at any time for any reason. This bill is just ONE VOTE shy of passing the U.S. House, the one national body that Republicans control.

Yesterday, a historic shift occurred in Florida. Florida is now a sanctuary for life. It is no longer the most extreme state on abortion. On May 1, Florida became the most pro-life state in the nation protecting both unborn children AND their mothers. Florida’s Heartbeat bill became effective.

Planned Parenthood is spewing lies. The nation’s abortion giant is pushing Amendment 4, the most extreme abortion proposal in the nation that will overturn all abortion restrictions — including health and safety standards.

These lies kill children and mothers. We are countering these lies in Florida, in other states, and in Congress.


BIG LIES DEBUNKED

Pro-lifers don’t care about the mother or the baby after birth the biggest lie. The Florida Heartbeat law provides 30 million dollars in recurring annual funding to provide everything from diapers to formula, from car seats to counseling, and from life skills to employment readiness.

Additionally, Florida’s 167 pregnancy centers serve both mother and child with a wide array of resources and options during and long after birth.

These state abortion battles are critical, must-win battles and our LCA team is here to help. These statewide battles are intense and truly involve life and death.

In Congress, the most extreme abortion bill has reached 213 confirmed votes in the U.S. House. The “Women’s Health Protection Act” (HR 12 and S 701) will allow abortion at any time, for any reason, up to birth.

HR 12 and its companion bill in the Senate will even erase restrictions on gruesome late-term abortions that rip off limbs or partial birth abortions performed on children partially delivered.

The bill will override EVERY state law. No one — not doctors, nurses, even religious institutions, or insurance providers — will be able to withdraw from participating in this horrific life-ending atrocity.

HR 12 specifically includes any “medical location,” or any providers, “including any physician, certified nurse-midwife, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, or physician assistant.” These abortion mandates would apply to both midwives and pharmacists nationwide.

If HR 12 passes, there will be no escape. And with all the effort put into the new law in Florida and across the nation these protections for life would be erased if HR 12 is passed. When we started the legislative year, radicals needed only five more votes. Today, Democrats just need ONE VOTE to pass HR 12.

If passed, this bill will override every pro-life law and permit abortion up to birth for any reason. This bill will kill children, hurt women, and force all of us to be complicit in this evil. Not one pro-life law will survive. This bill could even undo health and safety regulations. There is no time to waste!
