Note Stuffed in Bible Held Deep Secret

Jun 13, 2024

During a taped interview, Rebecca shared the following about her discovery:

When I was eight, I was snooping around my mom’s Bible while she wasn’t home and found four pieces of paper that were folded up and stuffed between the pages. I unfolded them and read the first sentence: “I was sixteen years old when I became pregnant with Elizabeth and I had no idea what to do." Not knowing what I had just found, I quickly shoved the papers back into the Bible and tried to forget about it.

Bothered by what she found, Rebecca was bursting to ask her parents when they were having dinner at a restaurant:

I blurted out “Mom, were you pregnant when you were 16?” She just looked at me with tears filling her eyes. She explained to me how she had an abortion, and as an eight-year-old, I could only imagine what it was. She said something about my sister, whom she had named Elizabeth, being in Heaven. At that moment it clicked for me that I had lost my sister.

Losing her older sister hit home for Rebecca when she attended the funeral of a friend who had lost her sister. Life is precious. No matter the dark days we encounter, life is ALWAYS the best choice.

The misnamed “Equality Act” is now back with a vengeance under a new number — HR 15. If passed, many will die, and many lives will be destroyed. HR 15 already has secured 213 votes in the U.S. House — every single Democrat. Even when two U.S. House Democrats died in April, two more signed on as co-sponsors. Historically, a handful of Republicans have supported the Equality Act.

The Equality Act combines LGBTQ and abortion into one bill. This bill is the most destructive in U.S. history. Tell Congress: Vote No on the “Equality Act”! Send your fax NOW! — Mat

In addition to a radical LGBTQ agenda, HR 15 mandates that “pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition” receive equal treatment. We have consistently seen how this “equal treatment” is being used to push for abortion.

Planned Parenthood is behind HR 15. These advocates of genocide “sought to recharacterize abortion as necessary for women’s equality and, thus, abortion restrictions as akin to sex discrimination,” America Media explains.

If HR 15 passes, every state law will be preempted. No parental notice or consent, no informed consent — not even health and safety regulations will be permitted. This will make abortion a federal “right” and will be funded by taxpayer dollars.

In addition, hospitals, medical providers, pharmacists, employers, and insurance companies will be forced to participate in chemical and surgical abortions. And the number of federally funded abortions will skyrocket.

Health insurance offered by churches, religious schools, and employers will be required to cover abortion. The Equality Act revokes any attempt to use the protections found in the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA)!

RFRA has been a huge reason for our success in so many cases.

Remember Hobby Lobby and Little Sisters of the Poor who objected to abortion-inducing drugs and devices? They won under the RFRA religious exemption, but if the Equality Act is passed, it would be much harder to win.

This bill will preempt every state law. Any abortion restriction will violate this bill if passed into law. Without question, this bill will force crisis pregnancy centers to refer women for abortion. This is what California tried to do a few years ago.

But we stepped in and dragged Attorney General Xavier Becerra (now the secretary of Health and Human Services) to the Supreme Court — and we won. But if the Equality Act passes, these bloodthirsty extremists will once again force pregnancy help centers to refer women to killing machines — or worse, perform these abortions themselves.

The Equality Act applies to significantly more than words and actions. It also applies to “perceptions” and “beliefs” and is not limited to a “physical facility or place.” It also applies online to websites, emails, social media, and more.

Therefore, this provision puts in jeopardy both longstanding federal conscience laws providing for protections for abortion objectors and even the Hyde Amendment prohibiting taxpayer funding for abortion.

All state and federal pro-life protections will be overridden if the Equality Act is passed. We can stop the Equality Act from making abortion a federal right. Tell Congress: STOP FORCING ABORTION ON US! VOTE NO on the Equality Act.

Our LCA team is working with legislators to stop the Equality Act and all other attacks against life at the federal and state level. There is nothing equal about killing children. We need to restore respect for life again.

We can and we must stop this bill to protect the children who will die and the medical professionals who will be forced to participate in abortion. No one should be forced to fund or perform abortions.

This is a battle we must win! Help us stop this dangerous bill in the House. Please take advantage of our Challenge Grant, which will DOUBLE the impact of your gift.
