At the Democrat National Convention (DNC), the crowd erupted in applause for a woman who aborted her baby because the baby was diagnosed with a condition that has a low survival rate.

How have we come to the place where there is jubilation over abortion?

Below I will share about an amazing woman whom I had the pleasure of hooding when I was a law school dean.

What happened outside the convention center in Chicago is even more appalling. Planned Parenthood offered free abortions and vasectomies.

Planned Parenthood is pouring millions of dollars into political campaigns and pushing abortion up to the moment of birth through state voter initiatives. Zero medical or sanitation standards. No parental consent. No reflection period. No requirement that the abortionist be a licensed medical doctor. And state funding of abortion.

I had the absolute pleasure of hooding a law school graduate by the name of Crystal. When Crystal was in the womb, the doctor got angry when Crystal’s mom refused to abort her child. Crystal’s mom was told Crystal may not survive the birth, and, if she did survive, she would be a “vegetable.”

Boy, was this doctor wrong! While Crystal was a quadriplegic, her wheelchair did not limit her. She graduated from college with a degree in mathematics. No small feat. She had an incredible memory and in law school, she didn’t even need to take notes! She was near the top of her class and earned a spot on the law review. Her smile lit up the room. She was more than amazing — she was a testament to God’s beautiful tapestry.

After graduating from law school, Crystal worked her way up the ranks and became a partner in a law firm.

EVERY HUMAN HAS INTRINSIC VALUE!

Yet at the DNC, Kate Cox was applauded for being a “heroine” for aborting her child. Newsflash — doctors are not always right. And every child deserves life.

The history of abortion has always been grounded in eugenics. Based on Social Darwinism, abortion, in Margaret Sanger’s own words, is designed to remove “human weeds.” Black, brown, people with disabilities, “unwanted” children — aborting them to grow a “superior race.” Remember Planned Parenthood’s former motto: “Every child a wanted child.”

This is the highest form of discrimination against people with disabilities — it’s murder!

We should weep — not cheer. Life is beautiful and is to be celebrated, not destroyed.

Nearly a dozen state abortion initiatives will be on the ballot this fall.

Many of these are extreme. The first words of Amendment 4 in Florida are: “No law shall restrict.” This will allow abortion up to birth for any reason, strike down health and safety standards and parental consent, and open the door for claims of taxpayer-funded abortions.

Help us mobilize key voters to save America.

A woman with Trisomy 18 celebrated her 40th birthday. New treatments offer a much longer life expectancy than doctors originally thought. People like Megan Hayes do not deserve death. They deserve the chance to live, even if radicals disagree. I hope you will join me in fighting for life in every peaceful way possible, like the following:

• Hire critical staff to coordinate grassroots mobilization, down to the county and precincts.

• Distribute compelling information and resources.

• Print millions of door knockers, flyers, and yard signs.

• Educate and mobilize thousands of pastors!

All of this takes a massive amount of work and resources. There is no more noble cause than protecting the lives of innocent children and families.
