Advancing Life and Liberty Through Action

What is happening in the skies above our nation is concerning — primarily because we have more questions than answers. The SUV-sized drones flying over New Jersey (and now other states) are deeply concerning. People have been calling the police, and the police have no idea what to do. One sheriff’s deputy, while on duty, counted about 50 drones, and the Coast Guard reported seeing drones flying up from the ocean to the shore.
Drones caused the shutdown of a New York airport, and they have been spotted flying near restricted airspace and military installations. These drones are being spotted at around just 1,000 feet above the ground.
Initially, the federal government was intentionally blind to what was happening. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said, “We have not seen any unusual activity. We know of no threat. We know of no nefarious activity. I want to repeat that. We have not seen anything unusual. We know of no threat or of any nefarious activity.” He then concluded, “It is very common for individuals who think they see drones to actually see small aircraft, and we have a case of mistaken identity.”
After mounting pressure, the feds are sending a drone surveillance system to New Jersey. However, we need transparency. We need answers. Are the drones from our own government? Then tell us. Are they foreign actors? We don’t know. And therein lies the problem.
Urge Congress to take swift action to demand answers, a plan of action, and protect the people.

A New Jersey NewsNation investigative reporter, Rich McHugh, was skeptical of reports about these drones. When he got on site, he reported seeing several during his assignment. He described them as “more sophisticated than I ever imagined.” He said seeing the drones for himself “completely” changed the way he looked at this situation. One appeared in the sky during the live TV broadcast.
He concluded, “I can tell you, I’ve never seen anything like this!”
In addition, the Coast Guard also reported seeing 13 drones and estimated that they had a wingspan of about 8 feet each. In addition, they reported that one of their 47-foot boats was followed or chased by some of these drones in the same area.
Ocean County, New Jersey, law enforcement reported seeing 50 drones.
Even if these drones are not nefarious, something this size could be very dangerous. We are vulnerable, and bad actors are watching. National security interest demands we address and protect both our people and our constitutional freedoms on our home soil.
For three weeks, Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy has actively tracked these drones. One of his first projects was to gather documentation to counter the misinformation from the DHS and the federal government.
His team would go out at night to see what light patterns they could see and then compare them to FlightRadar24 and other flight tracking software. Consistently, this sheriff’s team was seeing the lights when there was zero data about any airplanes being in that general area.
In the same office, Sgt. Kevin Fennessy has been hunting these for weeks. He concluded, “I do think it's some sort of drone out there,” Fennessy said. “We saw a couple, one flying low at us that was coming basically straight on and stopped. Did a 180, went back, did a 180, and then took a big loop around us, probably out here in the bay to go south of us.”
The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office sent up its own drone to monitor these drones or at least try to get close. But the unknown drones are much faster and dart away from the police drones. And when private individuals attempt to monitor or follow these drones, they report unusual electronic activities, like fully charged batteries draining within seconds.
Some are describing these drones as likely coming from a “major military power.”
One of the most concerning aspects of this is how dramatically drones have revolutionized modern warfare. We saw this in Ukraine. Even if the drones in New Jersey turn out to be innocent, pranks, or lies from our own federal government, our nation has rolled out the welcome mat for our biggest enemies.
This has exposed a weak point for possible attack.
Think of it this way, every year our nation pays 824 billion dollars on defense spending. Capturing a drone should be easy. The Department of Defense claims it does not know what is happening, and the agency heads display a complete lack of concern, which in and of itself is deeply concerning.
We need to act swiftly and decisively to stop this national security threat on our own soil.
This is one of the many threats against our freedom. Our staff has been working closely on another threat with staff on the House Armed Services Committee to successfully get the vaccine mandate reversed. We can only be successful with your help.
