She Lived to Tell Her Story

Jan 20, 2025

Amy doesn’t know her mom, but she does know her mom tried to kill her. Strangely, her mom discovered she was pregnant at 24 weeks, well past the point of viability. A few weeks later, on June 6, she had a late-term abortion.

By this point, Amy was already 28-30 weeks. But that was not the end of Amy. She survived. “I was born… alive,” Amy says. “I was born anywhere from 28 to 30 weeks gestation. I was a viable birth.”

There was no reason to kill Amy. She didn’t deserve to die. And at the same time, there was someone waiting, praying, and crying desperately for a child to adopt and love.

Tragically, children who survive abortion have their necks twisted by these abortion executioners. Others are discarded alive in garbage cans — gasping for air with no one to help them.

In Congress, right now both chambers have bills (HR 21 and S 6) to protect babies born alive — like Amy and so many others. These bills demand that babies born alive receive the same level of care as any baby born alive.

A birth parent’s love (lack thereof) should never determine the value of a newborn baby, or subsequently if it should be legal or not to murder that child.

There are 15 states right now with zero protection for babies in Amy’s circumstance. Abortionists murder these babies in full view of the world with no fear of reprisal. With the Sanctity of Human Life Day later this week, we anticipate a vote in the House and Senate at any time. We urgently need to pass the federal Born Alive Act (HR 21 and S 6). Make your voice heard in the halls of Congress, demanding justice for these children.

The abortion was not without significant danger to Amy. “I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. For me, that means I wear hearing aids and experience weakness, muscle tightness, and balance issues with my legs,” she says. This was caused by the abortion.

“During those early years, I fought hard to walk, run, skip, ride my bike, and learn like my peers,” Amy says. “Now, I am happy to say that I am a healthy person who loves her husband and children dearly. I have an amazing family who supports and loves me through both good and bad times. I am blessed to work in a field I love, as an occupational therapist working with children.”

Amy says:

I fully believe that God loves and protects His creation. His most prized creation is human life. One thing I love imagining about my beginnings is my Heavenly Father saying, “Not this one… this one is mine.” I don’t know if I’ll ever fully understand why I survived when others didn’t get that opportunity. However, I do believe that every child is a prized creation, and the Lord says, “That one is mine” to each and every one.

Amy has an incredible beginning of her life story, but most babies in Amy’s situation are not as fortunate. They are killed in brutal ways and thrown in garbage cans — or locked in cold closets — and ignored until their cries fade to silence.

Thousands have been placed in these situations and most of these babies were killed. Amy is one of many survivors.

These children were not given the opportunity to speak. They need you to speak for them in the halls of Congress.

Twenty-five years ago, Chris Wallace reported in an ABC 20/20 documentary that the news team discovered that the body of a dead child can be worth up to 2,500 dollars for the child’s organs. One company back then had the annual goal of making 2.6 million dollars through fetal tissue. Since then, the price on each child’s body has skyrocketed. Some organs are sold for 17,000 dollars.

We know that in 2018, just one university received 4.6 million dollars of our tax funds to experiment on human fetal tissue. This is blood money.

The children born alive gasping for breath or those with mangled aborted bodies translate into a nearly 700-million-dollar paycheck from taxpayers to Planned Parenthood in just one year (2022-2023). And this is in addition to being paid to perform the abortion in the first place. And then paid again to sell the bodies of these children.

This is why it is so critical for Congress to establish federal laws that will punish those who murder newborn babies. In 31 states, there are no requirements to transport these babies to a hospital for the care they need to survive. It is time to stop this infanticide.

Liberty Counsel Action is facing these giants that have very deep pockets. But we are speaking the truth in the halls of Congress. We cannot do this without your support.

It breaks my heart to consider each life lost and the precious innocent blood that is crying out from American soil. And every member of my team is just as deeply dedicated to winning this fight.
