These Lies Are Deadly. . .

A beautiful blonde Californian, Holly Patterson, had a life full of possibilities. But all of this was cut short when this healthy “fitness buff” realized she was pregnant by her 24-year-old boyfriend. They hid it from the family for a couple weeks until she turned 18, when she made the fateful decision to visit a Planned Parenthood clinic. 

Holly died one week later — from complications of the abortion pill. 

She planned to kill their seven-week-old baby with the two-drug medical abortion regimen of mifepristone, commonly called “the abortion pill,” and misoprostol. At the clinic, Holly was also prescribed painkillers and told to return to the clinic in a week to confirm that her baby was dead and gone.  

I’ll share below Holly’s last week of life. These abortion pills are dangerous and deadly. Yet Joe Biden’s administration knew this, ignored this fact, and waived a magic wand to allow doctors to be able to prescribe the same drug that killed Holly remotely by telemed and ship it with no proof of the baby’s gestational age and no screening for ectopic pregnancies. They even removed the requirement for a follow-up evaluation, completely ignoring the death of Holly and others like her. 

Even though Biden is no longer in the Oval Office, these dangerous directives are still on the books.  

There are two things we must do. Urge Congress to investigate the health risks of mifepristone, the abortion pill. Then demand Congress protect the lives of both mothers and babies in the states where abortion is illegal by banning mail-order murder.

These pills are not safe. Thousands of women have had severe or life-threatening complications. Many require surgery to survive. To claim that these pills are “safe” is like claiming that strokes are “safe” because the health care community has developed medical interventions that can keep a person alive afterward. 

But even those medical interventions couldn’t save Holly. Three days after she took the abortion pills, severe pain drove her to call the clinic hotline. She was brushed off and told that severe abdominal cramping is “normal” and to take the painkillers the clinic gave her. The clinic then passed her off as not their problem and told her, if she didn’t improve, to go to the emergency room. 

The next day, Holly went to the ER in severe pain. She confided in the doctor that she was having a chemical abortion, and the doctor brushed her off, injected her with narcotics, and sent her home. Holly gradually weakened, started vomiting, and became unable to walk. In the early morning hours before in less than a week, she was readmitted to the same hospital. 

Her father was called at work by a nurse and was told to “be careful, come as quickly as you can.” He raced to the hospital. “I found her in the intensive care unit, barely conscious, too weak to talk, pale complexion, puffy faced, and struggling to breathe. As I looked into her confused and scared eyes, I called out and asked her if she could hear me. ‘Whatever it is Holly you’re going to make it. I know you’re strong. Honey, squeeze my hand and let me know you understand.’ Trying to focus, Holly could barely squeeze my hand. I felt so utterly helpless.” 

He was also in the dark and didn’t know she had taken the abortion pill until the doctor explained it to him. 

“The doctor said, Holly was suffering from an incomplete abortion and a massive infection. Her vital organs were starting to shut down and her lungs were filling with fluid.” 

Suddenly the monitor alarms started blaring, and staff raced to her room. After a short time, her father couldn’t take it any longer and entered the room only to see “hospital staff was working frantically to save Holly’s fragile life. Someone was pumping on her chest trying to resuscitate her, drugs were being administered, and the monitors were sounding in alarm. Holly had flatlined. Everyone looked at me in disbelief and sorrow,” her father concluded. “I will carry that image in my mind for the rest of my life.” 

Both the CDC and the FDA ruled that Holly’s death was caused by clostridium sordellii toxic shock syndrome, or from an incomplete abortion where pieces of the baby’s body, or the whole child, are left in the womb and start to rot, poisoning the mother. 

The FDA KNEW THIS RISK, and still, under Biden, it pushed to get this drug into the hands of as many women as possible with the smallest amount of medical oversight as possible.

This is reckless and irresponsible! Congress can and must change this horror. Urge them to investigate the “safety” of this dangerous drug and to ban interstate commerce of deadly drugs that violate the laws and lives in pro-life states.

Satan loves this cycle of ignorance, pain, and death. Holly was young and needed guidance. It is unlikely she had any idea that this could cost her life. But the pain doesn’t stop there. Her father describes that day as “the worst day” of his life. 

He didn’t even get a final word from his daughter as she was so weak she couldn’t speak. And he found out that he had become a grandfather at the same moment he found out his grandchild had been murdered. The next moment, he lost his daughter. The pain is unimaginable. 

It is time to stop this cycle of death.
