Toxic Raindrops Falling on My Head

Jul 15, 2025

Is our rain becoming toxic?

According to an article in Science Direct (SD), “after weather modification activities, large amounts of seeding materials are present in the soil via wet deposition, which can produce adverse effects in both aquatic and terrestrial systems.” These toxic chemicals can seep into crops, water tables, and rivers. Shade-protected reservoirs can store them long after storms pass.

The main ingredient of cloud seeding is silver iodide. “Under the guidelines of the Clean Water Act ... silver iodide is considered a hazardous substance, a priority pollutant, and a toxic pollutant,” according to SD. The federal government is supposed to protect “navigable waters” from “chemical pollutants.” Yet silver iodide — recognized as hazardous by environmental experts — is being released into clouds that fall to the earth with little-to-no permits, accountability, or limits.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is introducing federal legislation to ban this geoengineering practice releasing toxins into the air. The bill will be patterned after Florida’s law, which became effective July 1. Congress must investigate and halt this geoengineering before it’s too late. Send your faxes to urge Congress to support this bill.

It gets worse.

The first thing you will hear from proponents is that silver iodide (AgI) breaks down in sunlight — but that’s misleading and dangerously wrong.

Here’s the truth: Silver iodide (AgI) is officially recognized as hazardous — and even regulated under federal and international law.

And when silver iodide does break down — it becomes much more toxic as silver ion (Ag+).

  • European Union regulations classify silver iodide (AgI) as H410: “Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects,” and warn to avoid release into the environment.

  • The Office of Environment, Health and Safety in partnership with the University of California Berkeley states that AgI is a “non-soluble, inorganic, hazardous chemical that pollutes water and soil.”

  • Silver iodide can cause long-lasting harm to fish, amphibians, and freshwater ecosystems.

  • Under the Clean Water Act, silver iodide is a hazardous substance, a priority pollutant, and a toxic pollutant — meaning its discharge into U.S. waters is strictly regulated.

  • Safety Data Sheets from leading chemical suppliers warn that “long-term inhalation of aerosolized silver iodide particles may affect respiratory health.”

Despite all this, cloud seeding projects are happening across nine U.S. states right now; and there is little to no regulation in 48 states.

It is reckless to allow the widespread release of a toxic substance. And yet, that's exactly what's happening. It's time for Congress to hear from you.

We need to flood Capitol Hill, urging Congress to:

  1. Hold immediate hearings into cloud-seeding experiments.

  2. Support Rep. Greene’s bill to ban chemical weather modification.

Send your faxes NOW to members of Congress and urge them to stop these weather-altering programs without any oversight.

What do silver ions do?

Silver iodide (and its breakdown into silver ions) affects tiny green algae that live in fresh water. These algae are important for the food chain and the health of lakes and rivers. The findings are alarming: Even small amounts of silver ions and silver iodide particles hurt the algae’s ability to grow, make energy, and stay alive.

But the damage doesn’t stop there. They have been shown to be toxic to fish, aquatic organisms, and plants. They accumulate in livers, kidneys, and gills of fish to interfere with gill function, damage DNA, and bioaccumulate in the tissues of animals and in some cases, cause death.

  • Gill dysfunction and oxygen uptake issues

Free silver ions interfere with ion regulation across fish gills, impairing respiration. In lab tests, fathead minnows and rainbow trout died from 96-hour exposures to just 4.8-5.3 µg/L Ag+.

  • Bioaccumulation and ecosystem effects

Silver can accumulate in fish tissues, impair reproduction, stunt growth, and alter behavior. Lab organisms like daphnids and amphipods show toxic impacts at 1-5 µg/L Ag+.

Our nation is being soaked in chemical rain. And no one is stopping it.

Liberty Counsel Action is fighting to expose the truth about weather manipulation — and we need your help right now.

We need your help. Fax Congress today.

Your gift of 25, 50, 100 dollars, or more empowers our team to demand congressional hearings, expose weather manipulation, and advocate for federal protection of the water, air, and farmland. A monthly recurring gift helps us keep up the fight long term.

We are stewards of God’s creation. Let’s act before it’s too late.

TAKE ACTION

Silver iodide is heavier than water and converts into toxic silver ions. This is NOT safe. Send your faxes to Congress.

Help expose chemical weather manipulation with your gift today.
