Outrageous Suit Can Become Federal Law

Aug 22, 2025

The Template for Where This Will Go

They are no longer satisfied with “live and let live.” That has never been their true goal. Now they want your money — or else.

In California, LGBTQ activists sued to overturn President Trump’s executive orders ending funding for gender ideology. In granting a preliminary injunction, a federal judge is forcing taxpayers to hand over an additional 6.2 million dollars of taxpayer funding during litigation. This is just a taste of what will happen nationwide under the Equality Act — lawsuits weaponized to drain taxpayer dollars under the guise of stopping “discrimination.”

Activists claim anything less is “discrimination.” As one activist put it, stopping federal funding is an “attempt to erase an entire community and enshrines blatant discrimination as national policy.”

The warped thinking behind this lawsuit is how the so-called Equality Act will be used nationwide. Every Democrat in Congress supports HR 15. And a number of Republicans voted for the same bill in a prior Congress. If only a few Republicans join the Democrats, this extreme bill will pass.

Demand that Congress block HR 15 — the misnamed “Equality Act.”

The Equality Act enshrines into law the argument in this lawsuit: that refusing to fund, support, or affirm LGBTQ conduct is “discrimination.” If you withhold your money, your approval, or your celebration, the government can — and will — come after you.

Today, it’s 6.2 million dollars. Tomorrow, these radicals could have their eyes on your business, your church, or your children’s school, demanding that you be forced to pay, affirm, and comply. The Equality Act ensures there will be no escape, no exemption, no refuge for people of faith, and nowhere to hide from it.

Let me explain how the wrongly named “Equality Act” is a threat to you. It elevates “sexual orientation and gender identity” behaviors to the same protected class as race. The best way to conceptualize the far-reaching impact of the Equality Act is expressed in this short sentence: What you cannot do legally respecting race, you will not be able to do legally respecting LGBT or Q. It even applies to your beliefs and perceptions.

It will transform every area of American life — including churches; religious colleges and universities; public, private and Christian schools; curricula; religious and private organizations; employers; employees; individuals; foster care and adoption; shelters; local, state and federal entities; privacy; women’s rights, including sports; a single individual providing a product or service online from their home; and more.

It will ban lifesaving counsel to those struggling with unwanted desires or behaviors. And if you don’t bow, you could be sued.

Urge Congress to take action now to block the Equality Act and the incredible problems it will create all across America.

Warning about the dangers of smoking is not hate — it’s love. No one questions the compassion behind urging a smoker to quit because it protects their health and future. In the same way, warning our neighbors about the destructive results of LGBTQ conduct is an act of care, not hatred. Cutting off healthy body parts is not normal. We want every person to discover the peace, joy, and freedom that only come through Jesus Christ.

But imagine if the government banned even warning someone about cigarettes or prohibited counselors from helping people quit smoking. That would be unthinkable. Yet that is exactly how the Equality Act works — trapping people in unwanted LGBTQ identities, silencing those who left that conduct behind, and forcing compliance with a lie about human biology.

Speaking a warning of truth in love is not hate — it’s a path to healing. But allowing the government to define what is truth or reality while silencing anything outside of its approved language ... never ends well. Stand up for free speech — while we still can.

We cannot stay silent in the face of the so-called “Equality Act” as it seeks to label biblical truth as “discrimination” and care as “hate,” and attempts to silence the best path to freedom. That’s why Liberty Counsel Action is on Capitol Hill right now, briefing lawmakers and raising the alarm. But we need your help.

Please donate generously to equip our team as we fight these radical attempts to criminalize biblical truth with your gift of 25, 50, 100 dollars, or more. In addition, a recurring gift helps us stay engaged in these battles long after the headlines fade.
