Today: RFK Jr. in the hotseat 

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.) has been intentionally excluded from today’s hearing at the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP).

Instead, this committee, led by a Big Pharma Republican, is on a witch hunt by inviting testimony from the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and another former CDC employee. Both are outspoken critics of Secretary Kennedy. However, this committee is not giving RFK Jr. any opportunity to respond. The topic is a flashy title about “Restoring Trust Through Radical Transparency” even as the committee spotlights turmoil at the CDC from terminated employees whose loyalty is to Big Pharma.

This is not an honest investigation. It is political theater designed to stir up trouble and force out RFK.

Nearly all of the people questioning him are profiting from Big Pharma donations to the tune of 6.67 million dollars total in the last election cycle alone.

Former CDC Director Susan Monarez was fired after barely a month at the helm, and former Chief Medical Officer Debra Houry resigned shortly afterward in protest. These are the two who will deliver the script in today’s political performance.

Here’s why we are concerned. The Pharmaceuticals/Health Products industry poured millions into the coffers of senators who serve on this committee. OpenSecrets shows between 94-99 of the 100 senators received money from this industry (which was reported in two different places).

The committee chair, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), ranked among the top Senate recipients, taking in 329,842 dollars from Big Pharma in the 2023–2024 election cycle. That buys more than “access.” It buys a microphone — the microphone being used today.

But there’s a reason the attacks are so loud right now: They’re trying to push out Big Pharma’s worse nightmare — RFK Jr.!

Last week, Health & Human Services (HHS) rolled out the second Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) report on children — a sweeping plan with more than 120 initiatives scrutinizing pharmaceutical marketing, reassessing vaccine injury research, pushing healthier standards across schools and communities, and most importantly, cleaning up environmental toxins.
