Final Shutdown Vote Up in the Air

The U.S. House is preparing right now for what could be a final vote on H.R. 5371 to end the shutdown with a clean continuing resolution (CR). This is a make-or-break moment to end the Schumer Shutdown.

Many Democrats are furious that their scheme to extort money for this radical pending wish list has collapsed. They wanted new taxes, new entitlements, and new funding for abortion, illegal immigration, and woke DEI programs. They were willing to hold millions of Americans hostage.

They have NOT given up. Right now, they are scrambling to force their last-minute demands back into the bill.

We need to overwhelm Congress with a flood of messages demanding they PASS H.R. 5371 immediately — without poison pills.

The margin in the House is razor-thin — and it just got thinner. Rep. Elect Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ) is expected to be sworn into a seat that has not cast a single vote this entire year. Her arrival shifts the vote margin. Every vote counts.

If AOC and Jeffries succeed in stalling today’s vote, they can try to force Republicans and fellow Democrats to accept their 1.5 TRILLION-dollar demand along with funding Obamacare.

We must insist that the CR does not include abortion, health care for illegals, or Obamacare.

The Senate version passed with a promise to bring up Obamacare subsidies for a vote in December. If that holds in the House vote, we will then turn our attention to that vote at a later time.

If the shutdown ends cleanly, then we can move immediately to stop the next assault: a promised vote on Obamacare.

This will be an explosive battle. Our team knows it well — I filed the first private lawsuit against Obamacare in 2009, and that case went to the U.S. Supreme Court.

But right now, we must secure this critical win to stop Democrats from driving America into bankruptcy.
