Crushing pressure to cave

Some U.S. senators are pushing for a vote on Obamacare subsidies THIS week — timed deliberately between the deadline for enrollment and the National Sanctity of Human Life Day on January 22.

About 97% of current enrollees are continuing their coverage, which means about 800,000 people are not renewing their enrollment in Obamacare.

Behind the scenes, a bipartisan Senate working group is fueling the push to pass an expansion of Obamacare payouts. This group has already admitted what the real sticking point is — Abortion. What is at issue is (1) the extension of the COVID-era subsidies that were intended to be temporary, and (2) the Hyde Amendment that is designed to restrict abortion funding.

The question is whether Republicans will hold the line or cave to funding abortions through Obamacare? Or will enough cave like 17 did in the U.S. House? Tell Congress with your faxes to hold the line and stop ALL our money from going to abortions now!

Taxpayer funding for abortion is a moral red line we cannot cross.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), the second-highest-ranking Democrat, warned that if the Republicans “decide they want to make this an abortion issue, I’m afraid that’s the end of the conversation.”

Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH), who joined the bipartisan committee, acknowledged that despite a feeling among negotiators that they are close to an agreement, it could all come to naught. Lawmakers “are on the clock,” he said.

The pressure campaign is intensifying. Unless senators hear from you, the loudest voices will win — those demanding our tax dollars for abortions.

If Republicans cave, the result will be a massive expansion of taxpayer funding for Obamacare — hundreds of billions of dollars more layered on a system that is already collapsing under its own weight.

If costs rise by 9% in 2026 as predicted, total health care spending could reach 5.9 trillion dollars — one trillion dollars more than just three years ago.

Funding Obamacare is like moving new furniture into a house that is on fire and hoping it will keep the house from burning down. It will not, especially when there are an estimated 6.4 million Obamacare accounts that are fraudulent or ineligible for the benefits they are receiving. This is draining resources faster than taxpayers can refill them.

Tell Congress right now: Do NOT expand the COVID-era Obamacare subsidies.

When the government pays for health care, eventually it will demand control over health decisions. More government equals fewer choices. More government results in greater costs and more fraud.

Yet despite all of this, leaders on both sides of the aisle are trying to tee up a vote on Obamacare subsidies and abortion funding. Please fax Congress right now and demand they stop the extra payments and expansion of Obamacare, especially when it includes abortion.
