BREAKING: Obamacare Showdown

Jan 20, 2026

President Trump just weighed in on Obamacare — but what exactly does this mean?

The U.S. Senate is under pressure to pass the Democrat-crafted House bill that will fund abortion and extend COVID-era Obamacare subsidies.

Meanwhile, President Trump released a vague plan with some creative solutions — and some potential problems. Trump’s statement is broad and lacks specifics on the level of funding, including whether it will expand COVID-era Obamacare subsidies.

More importantly, what is glaringly missing in Trump's new plan is any mention of the Hyde Amendment, which is the long-standing protection against taxpayer-funded abortions.

Tell Congress to hold the line — No more COVID-era subsidies and No funding of abortion.

“Obamacare was designed to make insurance companies rich,” President Trump said. Now he wants to confront the damage caused by Democrat-run Obamacare — without abolishing Obamacare ... for now.

Instead of pouring more taxpayer money into insurance companies and their commission-driven middlemen, Trump’s plan proposes more individual control — in the following four ways:

  • First, negotiate permanent drug price cuts by up to 90% with international allies.

  • Second, cut out the middlemen and send money to the people who need to purchase insurance and increase competition.

  • Third, require that all health care providers who receive federal money publicly post their fees.

  • Fourth, require insurance companies to publish a plain-English explanation of their profits, denials, and benefits.

This announcement comes as Congress is being pressured to double down on Obamacare’s failed model — a system riddled with fraud, rising premiums, and taxpayer-funded abortion.

President Trump’s plan offers a stark contrast: less government control, lower prices, and power returned to families — not bureaucrats or insurance giants. Trump’s plan could be a way to escape this expansion and instead choose partial reform. But what I described depends on what the Senate will do in the next few hours and days.

This is why your faxes are so critical. If Congress expands Obamacare, it will lock in fraud, subsidize abortion, and entrench federal control. Demand that Congress stop the Obamacare expansion and abortion funding.

President Trump’s plan will fund a cost-sharing reduction program for health care plans, which would save taxpayers at least 36 billion dollars and reduce the most common Obamacare plan premiums by over 10%, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).

Trump states insurance companies have taken advantage of “billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies that help their stock prices skyrocket over 1,700% as you paid more money for health care every single year … I want to end this flagrant scam and put extra money straight into the health care savings account in your name.”

Trump’s plan is just a framework. Unfortunately, there are not many details. This could become something amazing — or not! It would be far better than the House bill that is in the Senate. But we will never know if the Senate caves to the Democrat-crafted bill like the 17 Republicans in the House did.

We cannot emphasize enough how important your voice is right now.

The Senate is actively working behind closed doors to get the votes. If they only hear from lobbyists, insurers, and abortion activists, the final product will reflect their priorities — not yours.

Your faxes are one of the only tools that cuts through the noise and lands directly on their desks.

We are standing in the gap — but we cannot do it without you. Your support helps us fight this battle. Partner with us today with your recurring or single gift. Help fuel the strategy to change our nation.
