Teen Removed Over Christian Values

Apr 8, 2026

This could happen to any parent if we allow it to continue

A stable, two-parent, Christian family had their biological son removed from their home by state bureaucracy. A judge then imposed a gag order blocking the parents from speaking to their son about their sincerely held faith regarding God’s design for male and female.

This happened to a devout Catholic couple in Indiana. When they refused to deny biological truth, the Department of Child Services (DCS) launched an investigation based on false claims because the parents refused to lie to their son. Speaking the truth about male and female cost them their son.

The so-called Equality Act (HR 15/S 1503) is working through several committees, ready to turn these nightmare scenarios into federal law.

This vote could happen at any moment. Congress needs to hear from you. Fax Congress and demand they vote AGAINST the Equality Act.

Mary and Jeremy Cox were investigated after a complaint that they refer to their son using false pronouns. They had already given up his legal name and were calling him by a single letter for his name. That wasn’t enough. DCS removed their male teenage son from their home on allegations of “verbal and emotional abuse” and placed the teen in an LGBTQ-affirming home.

After initial abuse and neglect claims were proven false and dropped — the DCS shifted gears. Suddenly, their removal was about the boy’s eating disorder, which they claimed was “fueled” by his parents’ disagreement over gender.

But the same eating disorder worsened once this teen was taken from his loving home and put in the LGBTQ home.

Yet, DCS doubled down. State officials kept this teen away from the truth until he aged out of the system. The courts upheld the removal and the gag order on private family conversations about faith and biology, leaving this dangerous precedent standing.

Even though ALL THIS happened BEFORE the Equality Act was passed, if this bill becomes law, this bill will make matters exponentially WORSE.

This is the blueprint for what is coming if we allow it. The Equality Act will create a nationwide template to make these LGBTQ attacks commonplace — elevating gender ideology above parental rights, silencing religious expression, and treating disagreement with the radical agenda as discrimination. It would strip away protections for churches, schools, counselors, and especially parents who want to raise their children according to biblical truth.

We must block the Equality Act. With massive political pressure and horse-trading already underway on Capitol Hill, this bill is ready to spring into action at any moment.

Your immediate faxes can stop this betrayal in its tracks.

We are living at a time where a Christian mother and father in Indiana had their son ripped out of their home.

Not because they beat him.

Not because they abandoned him.

Not because they stopped loving him.

But because they would not surrender the truth.

They would not call their son a girl. They would not deny what God created. And for that, the state stepped in and cut the bond between parent and child.

If Congress passes the so-called “Equality Act,” it will pour gasoline on this fire. Fight back with your faxes against this bill that will strip parental rights and rip kids away from caring parents.

Liberty Counsel Action is sounding the alarm and fighting to keep Christian parents, pastors, and families from being steamrolled by federal power.

That kind of rapid-response advocacy takes resources.

Your generous support will bring sanity and truth to our nation’s public policy. You can make a single gift or become a recurring monthly supporter.
