Sharia Law Has No Place Here

Jun 3, 2026

Islamic Sharia law is creeping in to America

Shockingly, Sharia law has crept into America and has been relied upon by some American courts. There are also a growing number of Muslim communities that are operating under Sharia law or Sharia courts.

These Sharia law tribunals are popping up across the country in Texas, Illinois, Michigan, and Virginia. Minnesota even has a Sharia college!

Sharia is wholly incompatible with our laws and Constitution. It stands in direct opposition to EVERYTHING America represents. “America is facing an existential threat — the spread of Sharia Law,” says Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX).

Rep. Roy is fighting to stop Sharia, but he needs YOUR HELP to pass H.R. 5722 & S. 3009, the “Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act,” before Sharia gets a foothold in America.

Save Americans from Islamic Sharia! Demand Congress VOTE YES on H.R. 5722 and S. 3009, the “Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act,” before it’s too late!

Women in America are losing their rights due to Islamic law being implemented through Sharia tribunals acting as U.S. court-approved and often mandatory arbitration and dispute resolution practices.

A U.S. judge in Collin County, Texas, ruled that American citizen Mariam Ayad could only divorce her Texas-based Muslim husband in a Sharia governed tribunal instead of proceeding through the Texas civil court system. The tribunal in question was a Texas-based “Fiqh” panel of Islamic judges governed by a group of Muslim clerics based in Saudi Arabia.

Under the Sharia system, fathers get SOLE guardianship of the children (called wilayah), and the father gets to decide if the mother may ever see her own children. And while the father may choose to allow the mother joint physical custody of children in their “tender years,” Sharia automatically revokes a mother’s child custody rights when her children reach either two years or seven years old, depending on the type of Sharia followed and whether the child is a boy or a girl.

Under Sharia, women have no rights. A woman’s testimony does not count unless either one man or two other women corroborate her story.

While the children are in their mother’s care, she is forbidden from raising her own children in any faith other than Islam, especially Christianity, or she will lose custody even sooner.

Mariam had to fight all the way to the Texas Supreme Court to win back her rights. But Mariam should have never had to fight this battle in the first place.

And even in cases of violent domestic abuse, Sharia generally requires the woman to stay with her abuser. Tell Congress to STOP SHARIA!

Another Muslim wife said her husband had beaten and assaulted her. The trial judge found that, while both had occurred, a restraining order was denied because the husband claimed under Sharia he was entitled to beat and have relations with his wife.

In other words, the court appeared to dismiss physical abuse under Sharia law. This puts a woman’s basic physical safety beneath Sharia law.

As America’s Muslim population continues to grow, so does Sharia’s influence in America.

There will be more victims unless we get Congress to pass the “Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act” NOW!

Tell Congress to VOTE YES on H.R. 5722 and S. 3009.
