High Court Blocks Clean Elections

Jul 1, 2026

The time for excuses is over

We need the SAVE America Act even more than ever. The U.S. Supreme Court just ruled that states may count mail-in ballots received after the election, as long as they are postmarked by the day of the election.

This creates a huge risk for fraud and election scandal.

And it means election results reporting will be delayed . . . for days. This makes the SAVE America Act even more important to pass.

Urge Congress to pass this bill, NOW!

Members of the House Freedom Caucus gathered to demand another effort to pass the SAVE America Act. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) reduced the entire debate to one stunning statement:

“There is nothing controversial about election integrity. The fact we are having the debate is beyond comprehension.”

He is right.

Only American citizens should decide American elections. Voters should be required to prove citizenship when registering and present identification when casting a ballot.

That is not radical.

It is the foundation of self-government. Yet Democrats and some Republicans are fighting against it. But who Congress needs to hear from the most is YOU. The voice of the voters is the most important. Now is the time for Congress to hear from you to pass this bill, NOW!

The SAVE America Act would simply require documentary proof of citizenship to register for federal elections and photo identification to vote. That’s it.

Yet after the House acted, the bill became trapped in the Senate’s swamp of procedures, excuses, and calculated delays.

Citizenship is the dividing line between those who possess the sacred right to choose America’s leaders and those who do not. When that line is blurred, ignored, or left virtually unenforced, the voice of every lawful American voter is weakened.

The American people understand this. They know it should be easier to prove eligibility before an election than to untangle an illegal vote afterward.

Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) put it plainly:

“The SAVE America Act has sky-high approval ratings because it is just plain common sense.”

Meanwhile, Americans are being told to trust an election system that often relies upon applicants simply checking a box and claiming they are citizens.

Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-TN) warned her Senate colleagues what is truly at stake:

“You took an oath to the American people, not to yourself. Legal American citizens are losing control of their own country.”

That is the danger we are facing right now. And one of the most powerful ways to fix it is for private citizens to rise up and make your voice count.

Send your urgent faxes now.

Election integrity is not an obscure Washington policy debate. It determines whether Americans can trust the people occupying the White House, writing laws in Congress, and exercising power over their lives.

The government asks Americans for identification before boarding an airplane, entering certain federal buildings, opening financial accounts, or completing countless other transactions.

Requiring identification to choose the nation’s leaders should be the easiest decision Congress makes.

The House has done its job. President Trump has demanded action, and House conservatives have continued escalating pressure on Senate leaders.

Some House Republicans even pledged to oppose other legislation until the Senate moves the SAVE America Act. They understand that Congress cannot continue conducting business as usual while the security of our elections is treated as optional. Yet after all of this, the Senate still refuses to act.

Roy exposed the real conflict:

“The only question before us right now is whether the Senate will put America first or continue to put the Senate first.”

The Senate protects its customs, traditions, procedural hurdles, and political comfort with remarkable determination. But those traditions do not matter more than safeguarding the votes of Americans.

Senators were not elected to defend the Senate from difficult votes.

They were elected to defend America’s right to choose.

Tell Congress to act now to defend our elections.

The American people should not have to beg a Republican-controlled Congress to protect American elections. Lip service without action is meaningless.

Promises without votes protect nothing. This is where you enter the story.

Senators must feel pressure from beyond the Capitol’s marble walls. They must hear from the citizens whose votes, communities, and country will bear the consequences of continued inaction.

Please send your faxes now. Demand that Senate Majority Leader John Thune and every Republican senator bring the SAVE America Act forward and use every available legislative tool to pass it.

The election is the deadline.

Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) closed her remarks with a challenge that should echo through every Senate office:

“The time for excuses is over. The time for action is now. Pass the SAVE America Act. Let’s secure the future of our republic.”

We are working to mobilize Americans, communicate with congressional offices, expose obstruction, and demand action on election integrity.

But the Washington establishment is counting on Americans becoming distracted. It expects the pressure to fade, the headlines to change, and the SAVE America Act to quietly die.

We cannot allow that to happen.

Please send your urgent faxes to Congress at the highest impact level you can. Then make a generous gift to help Liberty Counsel Action to continue pressing lawmakers, informing Americans, and fighting for secure elections.

Our republic is hanging in the balance.

For life and liberty,

Mat Staver, Chairman
