Advancing Life and Liberty Through Action
Jul 11, 2026
For now, the halls of Congress are quiet.
The offices are dark.
But in 48 hours, lawmakers will return to Washington with the power to stop your tax dollars from flowing to Planned Parenthood and other large abortion providers.
We have this weekend to prepare their welcome.
By the time members of Congress walk through their office doors Monday morning, we want their fax machines, inboxes, and desks flooded with one unmistakable demand. Send your urgent faxes to tell Congress:
Permanently defund Big Abortion.
For one year, a federal prohibition blocked certain Medicaid payments to Planned Parenthood and other large abortion providers. That protection expired July 4.
Congress knew the deadline was coming because it was written into the law President Trump signed one year earlier. Lawmakers had 365 days to act, but instead, they left Washington.
Now they are coming back.
Congress has the power to introduce legislation, bring it to the floor, and vote to stop federal funding for Planned Parenthood. But lawmakers will not feel the pressure unless pro-life Americans create it.
That pressure begins today.
Planned Parenthood’s defenders claim Medicaid reimbursements do not directly pay for abortions. But taxpayer money strengthens the entire organization.
When public funds help cover Planned Parenthood’s staff, facilities, appointments, administration, equipment, and other services, more private money remains available to advertise, facilitate, and perform abortions.
Planned Parenthood does not become a different organization when it submits a Medicaid bill instead of an abortion bill. It operates under one name, advances one agenda, and uses one interconnected network of facilities.
Tell Congress with your critical faxes: Not one more dollar.
Congress had an opportunity to prevent the funding ban from ending. Sen. Josh Hawley offered an amendment that would have created a path to extend it through the budget reconciliation process.
The Senate rejected it, and lawmakers went home as the deadline approached. The clock ran out, but the battle is not over.
On Monday, congressional offices will reopen. Lawmakers will meet with their staffs, review their messages, and decide which issues demand immediate action.
That is why this weekend matters.
Your fax should be waiting when they arrive. Thousands of faxes should be waiting.
Congress must return to a tidal wave of opposition to taxpayer funding for the abortion industry. Tell your lawmakers not to schedule another hearing, promise action after the next recess, or hide behind parliamentary procedure. Instead, they must . . .
Bring permanent defunding legislation to the floor.
Force the vote.
Planned Parenthood has powerful lobbyists walking the halls of Congress. It has political allies, wealthy donors, and an enormous national organization fighting for taxpayer money.
Unborn children have none of those things. They cannot call a senator, send a fax, or stand in the Capitol and plead for protection.
They need you to speak for them.
Please send your faxes today at the highest impact level you can. Then forward this alert to your family, friends, church members, and every pro-life American you know.
Let’s make it impossible for Congress to return Monday and pretend Americans are not watching.
Flood their offices. Force the vote.
Every time America comes close to ending taxpayer support for the abortion industry, something changes at the last minute. A backroom agreement, a weakened provision, or a procedural excuse keeps the money flowing.
We cannot allow that cycle to continue.
Thanks to good friends like you, Liberty Counsel Action is mobilizing Americans, communicating with congressional offices, exposing legislative inaction, and pressing lawmakers to permanently defund Planned Parenthood.
But Planned Parenthood will not stop fighting for taxpayer money. We cannot stop fighting for life.
Please make a special gift today to help Liberty Counsel Action continue rallying pro-life Americans, confronting lawmakers, and holding every member of Congress accountable.
This weekend is our opportunity. On Monday, lawmakers return. Let’s make certain our message arrives first.
For life and liberty,
Mat Staver, Chairman
