Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt is going after Islamic extremism. He just ordered an investigation into the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). The probe will also scrutinize individuals and organizations that pose a threat to public safety in Oklahoma.

Gov. Stitt made clear why he is acting: “Oklahomans expect their government to take terrorism seriously and to act before threats become tragedies.”

He directed his security team to use “every lawful tool available” to protect Oklahomans, defend the state's values, and ensure that taxpayer-funded state resources are never used to support terrorism or those who enable it.

This threat is real. CAIR was created to support Hamas, as U.S. District Judge Jorge Solis ruled in 2009.

And CAIR’s parent, the Muslim Brotherhood, declared in a secret 1991 memo its commitment to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization” so that “Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

The Muslim Brotherhood's ambitions are not secret.

To back up a moment, Hamas grew directly out of the Muslim Brotherhood. In January 2026, the U.S. Treasury Department said Hamas “serves as a branch of” the Muslim Brotherhood, which provided significant material support to Hamas. That connection became even more alarming after Hamas carried out the heart-wrenching massacres in Israel on October 7, 2023, slaughtering more than 1,200 men, women, and children, including 46 Americans ... and then celebrating it!

Mohammed Badie, the imprisoned former Supreme Guide of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, publicly described the organization's ultimate objective as establishing a “rightly guided caliphate,” which means dismantling our constitutional government and replacing it with a totalitarian, Sharia-controlled state.

Oklahoma is not alone. Texas was the first state to sound the alarm. Governor Greg Abbott formally designated both the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations under Texas law.

The designation allows heightened enforcement and prohibits the organizations and their affiliates from acquiring Texas real estate. Two days later, Gov. Abbott ordered the Texas Department of Public Safety to launch criminal investigations into both organizations.

Abbott says the objective is to “identify, disrupt, and eradicate terrorist organizations engaged in criminal activities in Texas.”

Then Florida joined this fight.

Governor Ron DeSantis issued an executive order designating the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as terrorist organizations for purposes of Florida state action. The order cited the Muslim Brotherhood's history of violence, its goal of establishing an Islamic caliphate, and its links to Hamas.

Despite mounting scrutiny, more than 30 million dollars in government funds has been tied to programs administered through CAIR-California, involving people from Afghanistan. This program was tied to the admission of 77,000 Afghans into America following the 2021 Taliban takeover.

That funding has drawn sharp congressional scrutiny. Lawmakers have called for investigations to suspend federal grants to CAIR because of its alleged ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas-linked networks.

But CAIR is back in court fighting this scrutiny and accountability.

Oklahoma is investigating. Texas is investigating. Florida is fighting in court.

But 47 other states have their doors wide open to Sharia law and to the erasure of our constitutional rights.
