“If we have enough authority, and we have enough power, then we are obliged as Muslims to take the authority away from those who have it and implement Sharia,” declared British Islamist preacher Anjem Choudary.

He continued: “Now I hope that can come in a very peaceful way. I hope we can do that in a way where there is no bloodshed.”

That sounds nice, however, it is rare to have a coup and “take the authority away” “where there is no bloodshed.”

But now we know ... “no bloodshed” was not his goal.

A 2026 annual report states that Choudary, who directed an organization named Al-Muhajiroun, was convicted and received life imprisonment with a minimum of 28 years — because he “knew and intended” for members of his organization to commit acts of terrorism.

The impending threat of imposing Sharia is a clear danger. Here is a terrorist leader claiming he would prefer to not have bloodshed but who actually is using terrorism to implement his agenda of Sharia law.

America needs to wake up. Right now, there are bills in both chambers of Congress that will end the proliferation of Sharia throughout America. Send as many FAXES as possible to Congress to protect America and pass H.R. 5722 and S. 3009, the Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act.

Exactly what is Sharia, this system that Choudary said should replace constitutional protections and western law?

Sharia is a body of Islamic law derived principally from the Quran and the Sunnah — traditions concerning the teachings and conduct of Muhammad — with centuries of Islamic jurisprudence.

But the classical criminal-law tradition contains punishments that are fundamentally different from modern American constitutional law.

Under classical Islamic jurisprudence:

• Stealing — Islamic law prescribes hand amputation for certain thefts. (Imagine this being instated against flash mobs shoplifting in Portland, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City!)

• Adultery — corporal punishment of lashing with a whip or death by stoning.

• Abandon Islamic belief — the classic penalty is to face death.

• Blaspheme Muhammad — face death. Pre-modern Islamic jurisprudence developed severe penalties, including execution, for insulting Muhammad.

• Rebellion or violent disruption — execution, crucifixion, or cutting off one hand plus the opposite foot, or banishment for those described as waging war against God and His Messenger and spreading corruption in the land.

• Murder — the death penalty. Quran 2:178 establishes qisas — legal retaliation — for intentional killing.

Adult women are to be controlled by a male chaperone at all times, while men can often get twice the inheritance as women.

That is vastly different from our American constitutional network of protections and recognition of rights. While equal protections are safeguarded in our Constitution, Sharia is the opposite. The two cannot co-exist. That is what puts a target on the backs of our nation and our Constitution.

We need to believe what these radicals are saying and take them seriously. FAX Congress. Demand that lawmakers stop the spread of Sharia.

Their goal is clear — to take over whatever country they are living in.

So America needs to respond with an equally clear answer, if we will let them establish Sharia or not.
